Gynecomastia Surgery Recovery – Swelling and Fluid?

nearly 3 weeks ago, i had cosmetic surgery to correct my gynecomastia, which is a build-up of tissue under the nipple in males. i realize its only been three weeks, but when i look at one side of my chest, i am happy with the results thus far, but when i look at the other side, it is larger and almost looks the same as it did before the surgery

i dont remember it being as big about 2 weeks ago. after this surgery, there is an 80% chance for fluid buildup in breast, which means it needs to be extracted using a needle. i had this done once already since the surgery and the breast did get smaller, but still not as flat as the other.

am i being too critical of the results being so soon after the surgery? does the one breast appear to be larger because of swelling? i read it can sometimes take up to 5 months for it to completely heal and be normal. i guess im being critical, but im getting upset bc i paid so much for this surgery and i want to be satisfied. anyone experience this?

It is not something that I’ve experienced but I do think you are getting needlessly stressed out. From what you have said 8 out of 10 patients experience fluid buildup. You were not one of the lucky 2. The good news is that there is a remedy to remove the excess fluid. If it is not as flat as the other side it may be that there is further fluid build up. Or it may be that the fluid has been removed but the swelling has not completely gone down. I would give it more time. If necessary you may have to go through the procedure again but I cannot see you having to pay additional. Good luck.
