Question for BLACK WOMEN!!!What Happened to the Natural Sister?

now this is the view i have about black women denying their ebony features.
the black woman (my opinion)is the most beautiful woman on earth.so why o why does she not embrace that?
why does the black woman straighten her hair and perm or weave it instead of leaving it natural.
why do they plaster on make up just so they can look lighter.would they prefer to look like they have white in them?are they not contempt in just looking like they are black?
why is there a constant rise in the percentage of black woman getting liposuction to decrease their breasts size?
why do they constantly want to be a size 4 when they naturally an average of a size 12 and upwards?
my theory is this,
the media has compelled all woman of all races to look a certain way.fortunately for all other races they pretty much look the same as that so its not really much difference for them.but it was a big difference for black woman as they are completely different from the white woman(the type of woman that is supposed to be the figure for all woman to look like).and so to feel beautiful they got rid of the affro, they got rid of the natural thickness of their figure and replace all this with all the white girls unique beauty but what happens to the black girls beauty?how is it fair that the white man gets to keep his beautiful ivory queen for what she always was but us brothers don’t get to keep our beautiful ebony queen because shes trying to live up to what society wants them to look like ?
and so now we don’t have the beautiful original sister anymore.now, all we have is a weave wearing, thin lip kissing, size 6-8 looking plastic doll like figure.and all that don’t have this is trying to achieve this look.and the original black ebony queen is nowhere to be seen.
so as a summery to all my sisters is:WHAT HAPPENED TO THE REAL SISTER!?!

http://www.eblackhairstyles.com/wp-conte…

now id like as much thoughts on this topic from any race but especially from the black woman as this is aimed at them.
10 points for best answer.
thanks
ok in addition to a lot of comments that ive checked out…i am not trying to box in black women.
i am not saying they should look like 1 certain way.if anything im against that.but isn’t that what most black women are doing today though?you show me 1 black woman that hasn’t got a weave, perm,or something like that compared to the natural look.fact is,is that black woman don’t want this style anymore because they think that this style is no longer good looking.and so in that sense they are just kind of boxing in them selves by all going for 1 typical style.
2 hairdressers.1 does natural 1 does weave and perm.
which 1 do you think will get more black customers???well lets put it this way.the natural 1 would go out of business…
i rest my case.

my hair is natural: in ‘locs & i don’t wear make:up [mascara occasionally] :: i have a high metabolism & if i miss one meal: it shows:: so i have never been bigger than a size 6/7: but i still have black girl lumps! =D i sunbathe for the health benefits & it usually makes my skin a little darker & i like that =]

the media & society have a lot to do with these beauty standards that have been set & they have been ingrained for many generation now :: if we were still living in the 70′s: you’d see much more of a balance of natural & non:natural sisters =]

Oh wow. What a profoooooound question.
    Sarcasm.

By the way, stop with the dramatics. I am so sick and tired of everyone painting black girls to be these insecure creatures. Thin lip kissing? Oh give me a break.
And don’t act like those brothers don’t adore weaves. Very offensive question with a guise of constructive criticism.

Don’t try to create something out of nothing. I have not met one black girl who doesn’t love her thick lips or big butt, black girl figure.

Also, please use paragraphs, commas and periods in the correct way so it is easier to read your mumble jumble in the future.

They want to be white, and who could blame them. I certainly see where they are coming from. The Natural sister is a now a weaved out anorexic bimbo.

Why do people keep asking questions like this? As far as size goes, there have always been size 2,4,6,8 black women, what world are you living in?

***As far as hair and skin color goes, blacks have been mixing with whites and natives in the US for 500 years now.

I am a Black woman and I proudly wear my hair natural…no perms or weaves. I sometimes wear it in a ‘fro or twists or cornrows. I thinks it’s really sad what society has done to the minds of black women especially…..and I am a size 12 and proud of it. I know I will NEVER be a size 2, 4 or even 6, no matter how much I work out. I have learned to accept my real beauty.

Here’s an even better point to consider.. When do people stop living they’re lives based on what other people have to say about it? I mean, suppose a woman feels comfortable the way she dresses and wears her hair, all of a sudden people feel the need to condemn her for not living up to the measures that they place on her.. Only later to say they’re doing it so that the person is free to be themselves… Hypocrisy much? Pressuring them to wear their hair naturally with the claim of not being true to themselves is really no different from the media telling them how to look. I have to start wearing naturals and fros other wise blacks might get the wrong impression that i’m not being myself .

Passing judgement on someone because they don’t meet your standards , regardless of the reason, is pressuring them to conform to what you think, and not allowing them to be free to choose for themselves..

Black women just need to stop listening to western society telling them their hair is ugly or whatever. I don’t hate bw with relaxers though.

I do wear my hair natural most of the time. Sometimes I just striaghten it because I like to change my look. I’ve never wanted to look white a day in my life, but my hair is really long so I can’t rock it like Jamice, lol. I usually braid it back or twist it.

Black women are beautiful, besides for what some do to our hair, MOST love the way they look physically, much more than "other" women it seems too…

Black women aren’t the only ones who don’t always wear their hair natural. And when I say "natural," I mean without adding anything to it in anyway.

Why aren’t people attacking her along with all the white women who wear weaves, clip on hair pieces, extensions, wigs, and those who straighten their curly hair? Many flatiron their hair as well.

So white men don’t get to keep their "ivory queens", lol. They don’t even call them queens.

I agree with the other things you said about black beauty being attacked, but just because a woman perms her hair…doesn’t mean she’s a self hater. My sister perms her hair because it is easier to keep up.

I agree though that black women with natural hair should focus on creating their own unique styles rather than feel like they HAVE to perm their hair.

I personally don’t like weaves, extensions, etc. A perm IS natural…it’s a hairstyle.

If a woman chooses to relax her hair, that is entirely up to her. After all, it is her hair. Hopefully, she is full aware of the pros and cons of wearing relaxed as well as pros and cons of wearing natural.

The makeup may be used to cover up acne, blotchy skin, etc. Also, some women tend to wear makeup only for certain occasions. They may also not be very good at choosing the correct color that blends with their natural skin tone.

If the breast size is too large, some women opt to have a breast reduction for various reasons such as, back pain, to fit better in clothing, etc.

Maybe they are just trying to become a more healthy individual. It isn’t okay for so many women to be over a size 12.

You need to use paragraphs as I have demonstrated for you.

I’m naturally skinny but love what lil curves I have
I don’t perm my hair. I flat-iron it from time to time but how I style my hair has nothing to do with how I view myself or trying to be like anyone else.

Black women shouldn’t have to be pigeon-holed into looking one certain way.

I like the way I am, and I’m black. But the reason why we do that to our hair is because it’ll make us look good. I mean, I have a perm but I need it because if I let my hair go "nappy" it’ll come out. But that doesn’t mean I wanna be white. i like being black.

First, it is just hair! Why is it when it comes to black people the way black women where her hair is the measure of her blackness? If a woman wants to relax, straighten, wear it natural, curly, wavy, shaved, who cares it is HER hair. Hair is a personal statement that reflects the person, not how they feel about their race. I know many people with relaxed and straight hair that do it for their benefit not because they want to be white or whatever.

Secondly, I never knew that we are all suppose to look alike *insert sarcasm* Black women comes in many different shapes, sizes, heights, skin tones, with different eye colors, body types, and hair texture. WE ALL DO NOT LOOK THE SAME! Isn’t that the great thing about the black race, is the varieties we come in as a people!

Personally, I think that is a stereotype on YOUR part because you are assuming black women are suppose to be thick, with nature Afro hair, size 12 body type, etc. etc. maybe you need to expand your mind and realize that people, particularly women are different!

You are right up to a certain point, but we don’t appreciate you guys telling us what to do with our hair. It is always somebody making judgments about us based on how we choose to wear our hair. Yes, we do have a problem with our perception of "so-called" pretty hair, but alot of black men need to get over their obsession with long, straight, and wavy hair. Why do some of them date only or mostly out of their race, but have a problem with us wearing weaves? Most of us wear our hair based on what we like. We are trying to prove anything. I used to have a perm, braids, a natural, a weave, a curl, and a texturizer. Now, I get it pressed. Why? It is my hair. I know my worth. I don’t think our natural hair is bad, but if I want to wear my hair curled, back up off me.

because of one reason society. as a black woman i think society has a cookie cutter shape of wat all women should be. they have to have long soft hair, so black woman get weaves and perms. society makes us think that dark skin isn’t beautiful so we bleach yourselves to make us look more lighter.
