but what you dont touch upon is image is crucial to make money, find a mate friends etc for your self. The difference between a freind and sex partner is the sexual attraction(looks image). So ya grooming cleanliness are all part of image. I dont think your advice works in the real world!

I wish society changed the perception of beauty. Today I feel kind of stupid because when I was only 11.. still in elementary school, I already had several issues with myself and my body. I never had an eating disorder, but the things going through my head were soo wrong and awful.

Women competing is completely retarded. I’ve mentioned that to my boyfriend before. That’s honestly why I don’t have many female friends.

it’s easy to be comfortable in your body when you are average/thin, can shop for clothes in the mall, are considered attractive by the opposite or same sex. when you don’t have any of those things going for you it’s a lot harder. nearly impossible. it’s like fighting a constant headwind to get anywhere emotionally/mentally. even in the workforce.

I understand why you would think that but it’s not always the case. I know quite a few people (not just women, but men too) who have difficulty finding clothes that don’t just hang on them, girls who are embarassed because their boobs won’t fill out a shirt or dress like they’re “supposed to” and people do make comments about thin people too “omg did you see that girl had no ass!” “Wow, does she/he ever eat?”
    - All I’m saying is that it goes both ways.

Didn’t see this comment until now but sexual attraction isn’t only based on looks. Haven’t you ever met someone who you initially thought was BEAUTIFUL (physically), but they turned out to be such a bitch/asshole, that it just turned you off completely to the point that you don’t even see their beauty? Or someone who society may not see as strikingly beautiful, who is so sweet, so good natured, that your perception of their level of attractiveness shifts?

Image *is* crucial to make money…if you’re a model. But even then – there are “ugly” or odd looking models – and 9 times out of 10, those are the ones that progress the furthest in the industry, because it’s not all about image, but about presence.

@HippyL0ngst0cking Well the last part of what you said. In order to have sexual attraction to someone different than friendship–you have to have the physical attraction. The other person doesnt have to be pretty, but there is a physical attraction. Otherwise personality etc just means you are friends.

    I completely agree.
And also, women always try to bring down other women who – how shall I put this? – they feel is a *threat* to them.

By eliminating that person whom they see as a potential threat’s self-esteem, or trying to somehow .. manipulate, their friends to turn on them: They are breaking that person down. Eliminating that threat.

    And gaining.. what?

0,1 % more chance to charm the pants off that cute guy??

    Worth it?

Not even a bit. We should be supporting each other.

What about a person getting fit and in shape for self gain? That has nothing to do with any of the materialistic things your talking about. I agree that people can be whatever they want and if they’re bigger then what is normal, but your making it seem as if it’s bad to get in shape and look fitter. I think you rethink what your saying because looks does play a role in life and while I don’t think that is right, that is the way the world is. I think that it is perfectly ok to go to the gym.

Your ‘thick women’ being beautiful theory is probably true to some extent, but it also has to do with reproduction. Back then, women who were curvier were seen as more appealing because to men of the time, big hips and breasts meant that they would make better baby factories because their body was more adapted to it. I totally agree with you though, and I love your videos! :)

I have seen Tough Guise, am reading Odd Girl Out, and agree completely with this video. My philosophy is to try to see other people as human beings before I see them as anything else.

I think it is more sad that women’s beauty is based on the current male standard. Back when, the reason more voluptuous women were the in thing was because males were into voluptuous women. Now most men are interested in seeing skinny big boobed women and thus media shoves that image down our throats. If the world keeps basing beauty on the male standard, things will never change. Men’s opinions dominate most everything.
